Fun Friday: Movies

I recently finished sing about the movies and released it in my TPT store. I have so many ideas and things that go with this theme that I have collected in the time since I published the edition. It is funny how that happens. The ideas flow after the project is done...

My sister is currently talking to me about my next themed packet. She has significantly more energy than I have at this point of the day despite being two hours earlier than where I am living. I am getting ready for my autumn ick, so I just do not feel really well. She's having to gather enough energy to work with 22 7-year olds and a student teacher. I don't miss having to find that sort of energy. Not at all.

I am going to see Forgotten Island this afternoon. I enjoy going to see movies, and I often see them by myself. The movie I am going to see is in the tiny theater, and it is about half full according to the seat reservation system. I have to sit closer to the screen than I like, but that's okay. At least I will be getting out before the ick becomes too pronounced.

Last evening, I hosted a small group of music therapy interns. We spoke about composing and figuring out how to write songs. We discussed our need to use the music theory that we all learned in our coursework, and we played a very small amount with sound. This is a workshop that I often give with other people, and we spend lots of time remembering things that we have forgotten. We also sing and play our instruments. In fact, I might want to make this a workshop... hmmm. Let me think about what I can offer to music therapists in this vein.

A project!!

I need to spend some time on my website today. I am designing a new one, and it is challenging to make sure that what I want is going to happen. Once I am finished with the site, then I get to navigate the uploading process. It is definitely a learning process.

The new website will offer my continuing education coursework and most of my products in my TPT store. I will have as much up there as I possibly can. Once I get this aspect of my business updated and running appropriately, I can focus on increasing services to clients for direct services rather than just continuing education and therapeutic music experience design. Things will grow and change based on what services I am able to provide.

Until this afternoon, I am going to work on the website and think about what comes next for me.

Going on a Squeegee Hunt

One of the songs that I sang over and over and over again as a song leader in Girl Scouts was "Going on a Squeegee Hunt ." Now, you may be wondering what a "squeegee" is - good question! There's Always Something...

I am starting to fill up the gaps in my music therapy schedule with individual music therapy treatment times. This is a great feeling. I'll start individual treatment on July 11th when we come back for our second session of our Extended School Year. I'll get things going for three weeks, reevaluate, and then start up again when the regular school session starts. I am excited about getting back into this type of therapy. I've missed it, but there's something else going on. I'm a bit scared. You would think that my 23+ years of being a therapist would make things lots easier for me to jump back into this type of therapy interaction, but I am a bit scared still. I think most of these feelings have to do with forced light duty and almost a year of being out of my comfortable routine. I know that some of these feelings are rooted in fears of being hurt again. Fun Friday: Preparation

I am going to go to one of my favorite things tonight and tomorrow - a scrapbooking crop which morphs into doing whatever crafting thing you want to do in the company of other people who craft. A local craft store offers these every so often, and I am finding them to be pretty inspirational and well worth the $25 they charge. So, I am going to be spending some of today preparing for this event. I have no idea what I want to make tonight, but I know that I don't want to make more books. I already have five books that need to be finished and decorated, so I do not need to make more. I might focus on making the things to go into the books instead of the books themselves - clusters, hidden paperclips, pockets, envelopes, belly bands, and that sort of stuff. The largest problem with this type of thing is not knowing what I will be in the mood to make when I get there. I have to pack up my resources, so I also need to think about what I want to do.
