music, therapy, and me

It is Friday, right? That's what the calendar says at least, so I bet it is actually Friday. My day started the way most of my working days started - early but rested. It was a nice change from the way things have been going lately. I am getting ready for a trip. I will travel across the entire country twice and across half of the country twice as well. There is lots of travel in my future, and I love that, but it brings some additional tasks and things to prepare that do not usually come up. My desk is littered with reminders and things to move into my various planners. I tried to do some work in my next planner yesterday. I wanted to decorate my personal planner and get started with the new year. I messed up every page that I tried to complete. After fixing some of the mistakes, I just gave up because nothing was working the way I wanted. At all. I was very frustrated with myself. I have three more weeks before my next intern arrives at the facility to do their training with me and my clients. Three more weeks. That's not much time, especially because it is the end of our regular school year. There are so many things to do before #36 arrives, but most of them have nothing to do with music therapy or the internship program. I have started my "end-of-the-year" post-its with categories of "internship," "Talent Show," "cleaning," and "other."  I was able to knock off a bunch of tasks on Friday - I wanted to rearrange the intern office/storage room to accommodate the new desk. The effort spent on those tasks led to my intense pain on Friday afternoon, but I moved the storage cabinet and the desk where I wanted them to end up. I labeled all sorts of things, and felt like I had made some progress.  This week's planning/prep time will be taken up with Talent Show preparation (so far, no need to move the drum set ...

I am currently a bit preoccupied with my to-do list. I get this way every time I get ready to make a trip of some sort. Today is the day. I am prepared. I have my list of things to pack - and have packed them. I have my list of stuff to take with me - and I have that stuff as well. My backpacks are stuffed with stuff for the conference that I will be attending. I have no marketing materials which is something that I am lacking these days. Good thing I am getting back into the conference swing of things so I can get that sort of task figured out. I enjoy moments like these. I can invent what I need to invent in order to brand my products to others. I have a logo that I really like, and I use it on all of my TPT products . This is a simple, black and white logo that includes a music staff and a treble clef. I am sure that someone else would find it bulky or not quite right, but I like it, so that's what matters the most. It is time to start figuring these things out because I am look...
