Fun Friday: Another Dream Coming Up!!

SQUEEEEE!

So, I am getting chances to do things that I have never really thought I could do these days. I have been approved to run two ongoing music therapy continuing education opportunities, and I am excited about it all!

The first is a course on Composition and Creativity. It is a self-study course that encourages creativity for music therapists - something that I really love to encourage. Participants can select how many modules they want - either one or up to ten modules at our set price per CMTE - $10.00 per CMTE earned. This course includes topics including composition, budget-minded materials, and avoiding burnout. Lots of choices and options are available, and I get to add new topics when appropriate for me and for other music therapists. I am hoping that I can get some folks interested in taking this course and offering some feedback. This has been a course that I have developed over many years, and it is something that I wish I could take!

The second CMTE opportunity that I have right now is Make It! Budget-Minded Music Therapist Creation Group! I intend on meeting monthly with like-minded music therapists to make things to use with our clients. The group itself is free to attend and create along with others, but if participants want CMTEs (and free digital visual aid files sent ahead of time and access to the recordings afterwards), then they can sign up for course credit, again at our set price per CMTE - $10.00 per CMTE. Our first meeting will be December 5th at 11/10/9/8 am and will last 2 hours. I hope that there will be lots of people to join in so we can have lots of good conversations about how we interact with our clients using both music and our visual supports! This group will combine my love of talking to music therapists with my love of making things!

I get so excited when it comes to talking to others about the things I am passionate about in this world of music therapy.

Now, I am going to spend some time designing some digital files that we can make during our Make It! sessions. I also want to know a bit about the people who show interest - who they work with, what goals they commonly address, and how they use visual supports during their sessions so I can make things that will be important to them as well as to me. I love challenges, and this is one!!

So, today's quest is to communicate a bit with the people that have expressed interest, design some visual supports, and start the conversation about what we will be doing. I tend to work several months ahead of schedule, so we will be working on February visuals in December's meeting (at least, I will be - if others are working on their own things, that's great!!). So, off to put these meetings onto my calendar...

There you go. More details about these courses here.
