Thoughtful Thursday: Thinking Deeply and Critically About My Future

Thursday has come around again.

I am packing up my clothing and all my stuff from this trip because we leave tomorrow. It has been a good trip - lots of socializing and still more to go before we are finished. It is not over for me. There are more things to do in our next destination.

Being away from my home and being in several different places has been good for me. I have had lots of time to think about various options for my life. I have an ultimate destination in mind for where I want to be. What I want to do is forming in my brain. I am trying to figure out how to find money to do these things. Right now, I am tempted to play the lottery to find funding for my dreams, but I know that I need to find something a bit more realistic.

By the way, does anyone want to give me money?? I will take it! (Tongue firmly in my cheek right now!)

Having this time to think has been good for me. I have been able to talk over plans with people who love me and who have absolutely no interest in my direct future other than they love me and want me to do what I want to do. My Aunt Mary (who was featured in yesterday's blog post) is an organizational management specialist MBA person, and she offered lots of listening and supportive nods. She is doing some Music and Memory things in her retirement community and loves everything about music and music therapy. She is also fascinated by the stories that Mom and I tell about being school-based therapists (me - music, Mom - occupational). We laughed at some of the anecdotes from our collective 80+ years of working with humans last night because humans are funny and children can be very funny!

Being away from my home responsibilities has been helpful. I have read through most of one of my workbooks, am clarifying my business plan, and have selected a location for a practice. I have reached out to others and have a job interview next week after all the travel is finished. I get to continue to work on these ideas and projects for another week in my next destination before returning to my house.

Mom needs me to remember her teeth...

And that seems to be a good place to finish this blog. Oh boy.
