Wednesday...Again

Wednesday is one day in the week where I write something not necessarily based on a theme. I give myself this time on Wednesdays and Saturdays to just write without the need to offer music therapy information. It is a bit like a timeline cleanse for me, and here goes today's effort in just being me.

It has been three weeks since my last day of formal work outside my home. Since that time, I have tried my best to figure out what I want to do with my time and energy, and it is a continuing process. I am also starting to get an itch that I need to have a job. I am resisting that itch until September at the earliest because I need to be bored before I can start up again. Meanwhile, I am working on my own music therapy projects for my small business - conferences, services, website revamp, etc.

It is strange to have only errands and appointments that take me out of my house these days. I was able to make an appointment at 9 am yesterday without having to submit a time off request. I went to a morning movie on Monday. It is wonderful to feel like I can do what I want when I want. That is something that is missing from the world of full-time employment at a school.

I am still thinking about my former clients and the session structure, but I am also trying my best to remember that I chose this new existence, so it is what I want. I mean, it really is, so that's neither here nor there, but I still miss the client contact. There is absolutely nothing in my way for starting session work, except that I live in a music therapy saturated market, so competition is fierce. That makes it more difficult to start session work here.

My work list in my work planner is filled with Creativity Camp tasks. I have things that I remember I need to do, so I put them in the book. Today is my catch-up day. I have some paperwork to generate, so I will be doing that once I am finished with this post.

I am working on streamlining my paperwork. Templates are my friends when it comes to this task. I have to design a certificate, create a evaluation form, and generate my emails for the event this weekend. I have to finish my outlines and rehearse what I am going to say during our camp sessions. This is the fun stuff about getting conferences going - the little things.

Thanks for reading my burblings. Tomorrow will be a Thoughtful Thursday post, and I will be figuring out what I will write about tomorrow at some point today...

There you go.

Wednesday...
