Time to Refocus My Blog Posts

Most of the posts that I have written over the past several years have been me-focused. Of course, this blog actually functions as my online journal, so the "me" parts are part of how I identify as a human and as a music therapist. I have a feeling that there are times when people are just not as interested in my personal feelings as they are in my ideas and opinions about music and therapy. I try to focus on music therapy things on four days of the week, but I forget sometimes (like yesterday) and end up nattering on and on about what is happening in my life or about bullet journaling or about my back aches. I figure three days of personal stuff is plenty for this blog.

So, if you are interested in specific posts, here is the way I approach my writing (most of the time - I am striving to get back into a set pattern of topics):

  • Sunday - Synthesis Sunday - I like to think about something and try to figure out my stances on that topic. There is some news from AMTA that was released yesterday that I will be thinking about tomorrow morning.
  • Monday - Being an Internship Supervisor - Oof. There are many things to consider in the world of clinical training.
  • Tuesday - TME Tuesday - Here's where I speak about making ideas and getting things ready for working with my clients. There is so much that happens when you have to interact with clients within a therapeutic environment that deserves close consideration.
  • Wednesday - Anything goes on this day. Honestly, this is one of the days where I will post whatever I am dwelling on at the moment.
  • Thursday - Thoughtful Thursday - Again, this is another day for just thinking about the "me" part of this blog title. I think about lots of things, and I need some time to write about it.
  • Friday - Systems in Music Therapy - Here is where I work on the idea of "work smarter, NOT harder" by identifying the habits or patterns or materials that make my work better.
  • Saturday - Potluck - You will never really know what will happen on a Saturday post.

If you are not interested in reading my "me" posts, then skip those days. If you are only interested in those particular essays, then I will see your visits on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I will continue to write things out because I need to - not because of the number of views and comments and all that sort of stuff. I don't monetize anything, so there is no financial benefit for me if you visit or not.

One of the things that I am going to do later today is make some new pictures for these posts. I might also change my blog background. I'm not really happy with the yellow at the moment. New pictures and a new setting might be just the thing to keep me inspired.

Thank you for reading this blog. I really appreciate you. While I do not write posts entirely for views, it is reinforcing to know that you are interested in some of what I have to say. I always want to be thinking and refining my opinions and trying really hard to figure out my role in this world. I will be writing a Synthesis Sunday post  tomorrow, and I will focus on what I have read in the recent AMTA communication. I have some thoughts...and I have some opinions...and I have LOTS of questions! See you tomorrow??

Happy Saturday!!
