Spring Break - Day Two
This is the second blog post that I've written today. The first is a post-in-progress about "the Perfect Therapist" myth. I haven't really been able to bring it to a cohesive status, so I'm keeping it in my draft folder until I can really delve into the idea. Today, however, you will have to be content with something else.
It is the second day of my break, and I feel like I got some things done yesterday. I did straighten my bookshelves and threw out some stuff. I have more to do (of course, I ALWAYS have more to do), but I made a good start yesterday. I also made my favorite cookies yesterday, so I have some good treats to eat today. I got out for a bit into the spring sunshine, started a book about making visual aids, and also took a nap! It was a good day.
I am hoping that today is just as productive. I need to go purchase another hand mixer. The one that I inherited from my grandmother 27 years ago disintegrated in my hands just as I was starting to make cookies yesterday. I figure that 27 years plus however long she used it before I got it was a wonderful life span for a hand mixer, so I threw it away and will get a new one today. I wonder if Oster still makes hand mixers - if so, I will get another one! I mixed the cookies by hand, and they still turned out okay! It's amazing how that works.
The rest of the day will be spent in chores and exploration and whatever I feel like doing at any moment. I have nothing that HAS to get done today. It is open and free. I think I may do some more organizing, recycling, and tossing out. Oh, I do need to go to the vet to pick up food for the cat and her arthritis shots. That's the only thing that I have to do today. Good thing I remembered that. There is no more cat food, and I am hearing about it.
My brain is going a mile a minute this morning, for some reason. I awoke at 4 am and have been thinking every since - about myths, about old friends, about current friends, about all sorts of things. My brain just won't stop going from topic to topic. At some point, this will stop, but it is amazing how creativity can reemerge when there is nothing else to do. I will probably spend some time working on presentations and courses today. It seems like that type of day. I will write down ideas and do what I need to do to fill up this day.
See you tomorrow?
