A Lazy Sunday Morning
Today is a lazy Sunday. I spent my Friday engaged in music therapy resource creation, my Saturday in actively avoiding anything other than sorting materials and clearing carpet, and now it is Sunday. Today's plans include a shower, washing bedding, a movie at the local theater, and spending some more time with music therapy stuff. I have to arrange my first-ever full conference scheduled for the second weekend in August. That is something that is zapping my energy right now.
I have cleared some spaces in my home which has helped a bit with my attitude. Basically, I shifted piles from here to there, but I also went through those piles and started the sorting process. I want to get materials sorted into zones in my house. Instruments in one location, visuals in another, books in yet another. You know what I mean.
This morning is something that I treasure. After working as a church music director for 26 years, it has only taken me 2 years to start to treasure my Sunday mornings. No more rushing, no more stressing about teaching Sunday school, and no more cranky church members being passive aggressive about making more and more demands that were not part of my actual job. Do I sound bitter about that situation?? It has been two years of NOT doing this job, and it still makes me angry.
ANYWAY...
It is very nice having the opportunity to take these mornings at my pace. I was up very early this morning, but I was also able to go back to sleep. I slept until 6:15am which is unusual for me. It is now 7:41am, and I am starting to get hungry and ready for my shower. After that, laundry and dishes will get started before I do some more sorting of stuff into piles. Then, a movie this afternoon, and then returning to finish the laundry, make the beds, and open the dishwasher. I am looking forward to today.
Tomorrow, I head back to work for the third week from the end of it all. I have no idea what we are going to do this week in music therapy sessions, but that decision process is reserved for Monday me. Tomorrow will be a focus on work again, but today is a me-focus day.
Yesterday, I found a sticker shop that I have never seen before. I made an order and will be sharing what I got from The Sticker Spectrum when the order arrives. I enjoy supporting stores and small businesses, so I spent a bit of money to get some new stickers to use in my various projects.
It is time to move from downstairs to the overwhelming upstairs of my house. Shower first, then breakfast, then sorting while the laundry gets going. Time to go. See you tomorrow for Make It Monday - I will show you some of the files for our upcoming Creativity Camp!
