Friday
It is Friday. I have to remind myself of this because the work week started yesterday and things are a bit scrambled around here. My dependence on schedules is never more plain than when my schedule gets scrambled. Yesterday was a work day in our rooms and today is a training day. I am excused from most of the training because it is all about writing IEPs, and I am not an IEP-related service therapist. I am an educational enrichment therapist who does not carry formal IEP goals on any clients. As a result, I do not need to sit through four hours of software training, so I get to use that time to do some things that I have not been able to do yet - like laminate 97+ pieces of paper and get my binders ready.
Yesterday did not go as planned. I was hoping to clean out my office space, and I got some of that done, but not as much as I wanted. The temperature was a bit cold, but not so much as to make me feel a need to complain. I would rather have a room where the temperature is about 65 degrees than one where the temperature is 82 degrees.
Today's post will be a short one because I got up around 5am and need to be at work for training at 7:15. I am not sure if I will be doing the training that I am supposed to do - my back is twinging and this training will contort just about everything. I get reprimanded by the man who runs the training when I am not able to move. Then, I get all disgusted with myself, but I have to get over that. After that training, everyone who writes IEPs has to go learn how to use the software system. I used to have to go to those types of trainings, but my new administrators recognize that it is a waste of time to make us go to trainings that are completely irrelevant to our jobs. I no longer have to sit through those things. I used to have to go, but no longer!!
The plan for today is to continue to work on the office and to finish the binders! I have to take in more laminating film because I used all of my work stash. It is time to stock up on bright colored file folders and more laminating pouches. Yay!!
It is time to head into my day. I hope that your day will be rewarding for your clients and for you!
