Saturday Tasks - The To-Do List is Getting Long

It is Saturday.

This is my favorite day of the week these days because it is the one day that I devote entirely to my "other than my primary job" pursuits. I have a list of things that I have to get finished before the end of the weekend, so I am working on tasks as I can. I haven't been able to check off anything except for computer-centric tasks so far, but I have many other things to do.

One of the things that I do every other Saturday is a bit of peer supervision. It is nice to talk to a fellow music therapist about small business and internship stuff. So, we meet together every other week to talk about what is going on in our lives. That's on the to-do list.

Other things are clearing my crafting space so I can host a symposium in two weeks without showing everyone my messy work space. I need to make food to eat this week - I already have hamburger cooked, so I am thinking about making a mass batch of chili and spaghetti sauce to eat on each night. I also have some chicken and some frozen things ready for the air fryer, so there are options available. For the moment, though, my attention is stuck on breakfast.

Time to get going on the tasks for today. Breakfast, then a quick burst of cleaning before supervision. After that, lunch, marketing materials, and more cleaning.

Cleaning is the adulting task that challenges me the most. I always find things that interest me more than washing dishes, so the dishes pile up. I always want to do better, but I never do. This year, though, I am combining my work stuff with my home stuff, so I need to be better at cleaning and organizing so I can get everything into my space. This striving to be better has to start today. I have big goals for my home space, so things have to happen.

Today's big home task is to empty the large closet in the library. It is currently full of boxes of books as well as boxes of miscellaneous stuff. Once I empty it out, I am hoping to put my file cabinets and instrument shelves in there. That will happen after I go through the boxes that I take out of the closet.

So, I'm going to set my trusty penguin timer for 30 minutes and start in the library closet. After that, it will be time to get ready for peer supervision before resetting the timer for another 30 minute period of time.

I'm getting started.
